ROMA

ROMA is more than a home water softener: it's a statement of style.

Designed for those seeking technological performance and functional beauty, the ROMA line brings high-quality water and the excellence of Italian design to your home.

Inspired by the balance between form and substance typical of the Eternal City, ROMA is the new icon of softened water.

Installing ROMA means transforming your home's water into a wellness experience: sparkling surfaces, less maintenance, and constantly protected systems.

With four models, ROMA fits elegantly into any technical environment, becoming an integral part of the architectural fixtures and fittings. Every ROMA includes a Hydra Mini ROMA, a dedicated self-cleaning filter capable of retaining sediment and protecting the softener and the entire system from sand and debris.

ROMA is a softener that knows how to get noticed, without the need to be seen: no need to hide it, just carefully integrate it into the space.

Good reasons to choose ROMA

  • Protect your home, enhance your system - ROMA eliminates limescale at the root and safeguards plumbing systems, taps, and appliances. Surfaces stay cleaner, longer.
  • Smart consumption - Optimises water and salt use, improves energy efficiency and extends the life of household appliances.
  • Daily comfort - With softer water, even skin, hair and fabrics are softer and more cared for.
  • Visible functionality - ROMA brings aesthetics and precision to every service room.
  • Made in Italy - Designed and manufactured in Italy, it is synonymous with quality, innovation, and attention to detail.
  • Protection included - Hydra Mini ROMA self-cleaning pre-filter included with every model to protect the entire system from sediment: a cleaner system is more efficient and lasts longer.

How ROMA works

Home water softeners work through the ion exchange process, a technology used to remove water hardness caused by calcium and magnesium carbonates.

Inside the softener there is a resin bed loaded with sodium ions (strong cation resin): when hard water passes through it, the calcium and magnesium ions are captured by the resin and exchanged for sodium, whose salts do not cause deposits, and return softened water.

To maintain the system's efficiency, simply regenerate the resin periodically with brine. This regeneration cycle is managed by an electronic valve that regulates the flows and times.

Each ROMA water softener has two tanks:

  • one for the resin,
  • one for salt, to be refilled periodically.

The system is designed to maximise efficiency:

  • Salt consumption: max 120 g per litre of resin.
  • Water consumption: approximately 5 litres per litre of resin.
  • Integrated red LED to indicate lack of salt.

ROMA: tailor-made

Choose ROMA based on the size of your system, water needs, and water hardness.

For maximum efficiency and to fully exploit ROMA's potential, it is important to choose the model that best suits your needs. This is why there are 4 ROMA models: because every situation deserves the right treatment.

Water hardness and water consumption represent two determining factors in choosing the most suitable product, which is why there are some fundamental instructions for reading the table.

  • Water hardness (°f):
The data reported refer to softeners sized for an inlet water hardness of approximately 30 °f.

In the presence of a hardness higher than 50 °f, we recommend purchasing professional systems, such as Jupiter or Helios.

  • Water consumption:
In situations where the number of people is similar, but the water hardness is higher, it is appropriate to opt for a larger product

Note: The data shown are indicative. To choose the right water softener, we recommend contacting agents, local retailers, Atlas Filtri customer care, or your trusted professional.

Protection: included

All ROMA models include Hydra Mini ROMA, the self-cleaning filter with a 50 micron filtration rating that improves the performance of the entire system. But how does it do it?

Hydra Mini ROMA filters sediments present in the water before they reach the ROMA softener and the entire system, helping to keep the entire plant clean and free from small debris and sand that could compromise its efficiency.

Advantages:

  • Washable cartridge, does not need to be disassembled or replaced
  • Quick maintenance - no need to disassemble the filter and cartridge for cleaning: just open the drain valve
  • Quick drain system that prevents backflow pollution
  • Compact design, perfect even for installation in small spaces
  • Cleaning operations can be automated with K-Matic (link on product page)

Hydra Mini ROMA ensures that the system always functions optimally. Silent, resistant, effective.

Design made in Italy

ROMA is the result of the collaboration between the company Atlas Filtri and SID - Scuola Italiana Design, which is part of Galileo Visionary District, the Science and Technology Park of Padua which, since 1989, has been developing visionary solutions through a multidisciplinary and sustainable approach, focusing on Design & Communication, Marketing & Branding, Innovative Materials, Startups, and Education.

Every ROMA component is selected to last, while every detail is designed to facilitate maintenance and ensure consistent performance over time. Because true design isn't just a matter of aesthetics, but a way to improve quality of life, every day.

The ROMA range takes shape in Italy: from the design of the cabinet to the assembly, up to the final configuration. Each stage is handled with specialised skills, advanced technologies, and constant attention to quality, elements that make this process a concrete example of Italian industrial excellence and design.
